CTET December 2024
The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the Central Teacher Eligibility Test Notification for December 2024. CTET is an eligibility test for aspiring candidates to become teachers in schools under the central government.
The test aims to ensure that teachers possess the necessary skills and knowledge to educate students from Classes I to VIII effectively. The exam is divided into two papers: Paper I for candidates who want to teach Classes I to V and Paper II for those intending to teach Classes VI to VIII.
The online application process for the CTET December 2024 Exam starts on 17th September 2024. Interested candidates can submit their applications before 16 October 2024. The examination is scheduled for 1st December 2024. Both Paper I and Paper II will be conducted on the same day, catering to individuals intending to teach Classes I-V and Classes VI-VIII, respectively.

Educational Qualification For CTET December 2024
The educational qualification requirements differ based on whether the candidate is applying for Paper I (for Classes I-V) or Paper II (for Classes VI-VIII). Here’s a brief outline:
For Paper I (Primary Stage: Classes I-V)
Minimum Qualification:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, following the NCTE regulations.
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
For Paper II (Elementary Stage: Classes VI-VIII)
Minimum Qualification:
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed in accordance with NCTE norms.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Additionally, candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) and differently-abled candidates are given a relaxation of up to 5% in qualifying marks.
CTET December 2024 Application Fee
The application form for CTET December 2024 will be submitted successfully only when the required application fee is submitted. - Online Mode of Payment: The fee payment can be done through a Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking.

CTET Examination Process and Paper Pattern
CTET consists of two papers:
- Paper I: For candidates who wish to teach Classes I-V.
- Paper II: For candidates intending to teach Classes VI-VIII.
If a candidate intends to teach both primary and elementary levels, they must appear for both Paper I and Paper II. Both papers are multiple-choice and carry 150 marks each.
Paper I Exam Pattern:
- Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions
- Language I: 30 questions
- Language II: 30 questions
- Mathematics: 30 questions
- Environmental Studies: 30 questions
Paper II Exam Pattern:
- Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions
- Language I: 30 questions
- Language II: 30 questions
- Mathematics and Science OR Social Studies/Social Science: 60 questions
Both exams will be conducted for a duration of two-and-a-half hours.
Important Instruction for Photograph and Signature
While filling out the CTET Online Form 2024, candidates need to upload their photographs and signatures in a prescribed format which has been discussed in detail below.
- The scanned images of the latest photographs and signature should be in jpg/jpeg format.
- The size of the photograph and signature must be of the following dimensions.

CTET Certificate Validity
The CTET certificate is valid for a lifetime, making it a valuable certification for aspiring teachers. Moreover, there is no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can take to qualify for CTET. Candidates who have already qualified can also take the test again to improve their score.
Pre-Requisites for CTET 2024 December Application Form
Before Applying for CTET 2024, a candidate must have hold of the following pre-requisites to avoid any last-time problems and hassle in the online application process:
• Candidates must have a scanned Photograph and Signature (in JPG format) Ready in the required format before applying for CTET Application Form 2024.
• Candidates must NOT sign in CAPITAL LETTERS as it won’t be accepted by CBSE.
• Candidates must keep all necessary documents ready at the time of Online Payment.
• A Valid Email ID must be provided at the time of Registration for CTET 2024.
• No change will be accepted through offline mode i.e. through fax/application or by email etc. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
How to Apply CTET 2024 Application Form?
Candidates can follow these simple steps to apply CTET December 2024 Application Form Online:
- Visit the official website at ctet.nic.in.
- Click on the “Apply Online” link for CTET December 2024.
- Fill in the required details such as name, date of birth, educational qualifications, etc.
- Upload scanned images of your recent passport-sized photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee through debit card, credit card, or net banking.
- Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
Steps to Fill CTET Application Form 2024
The candidates who are interested in applying for CTET 2024 must follow the below steps to submit their CTET Application Form 2024. Candidates are advised to keep the scanned copies of their essential documents ready while filling out the online form.
- Open the official portal of CTET 2024 i.e. https://ctet.nic.in.
- The homepage of the website appears on the screen. Click on “Apply for CTET Dec-2024”.
- A new window will appear on your screen. If you are a new user, Click on the “New Registration” button to register yourself. Otherwise, fill in your details and click on the “SIGN IN” button.
- Fill in all the required details: Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, and Date of Birth in capital letters.
- Now choose the Exam Centre and the medium of exam for CTET 2024 in which you want to attempt the paper (English/Hindi).
- Enter your Aadhar card number, choose your gender, and category, and finally select the status of Employment and the status of the Qualifying Exam.
- Now fill in your Educational Details, the most recent qualification you hold, your percentage, etc.
- After that, you are required to provide your communication address, phone number, and email ID.
- Upload your photo and signature. Both the images must be in jpg/jpeg format and must have a white background.
- You will be directed to the payment page. The payment can be made for the CTET 2024 Exam through online or offline mode.
- Click on the “SUBMIT” button. Download the confirmation page for future reference.
NOTE: The candidate particulars can be edited till the payment of fees has not been made. Once the payment of fees has been made, candidate particulars cannot be edited at this stage. Thereafter corrections can be made only during the period in which online correction will be allowed as per the given schedule of the CTET December 2024 exam.

CTET 2024 Examination Centre
Candidates are required to choose at least 4 different centers from the list in order of their preference and fill out the same in CTET Application Form 2024. While every effort will be made to conduct the exam at one of the places opted by the candidate, however, the Board reserves all rights to allot a center other than that of the candidate’s choice anywhere in India in case of unavailability.
